Send automated Twitter status messages directly from AutoCAD, read tweets in AutoCAD. With ACADtweet you can inform your collegues about a finished task, or even let an AutoCAD script (e.g. finishing lengthy render) to inform you automatically via Twitter.

TweetMyMac

TweetMyMac is inspired by TweetMyPC and looks at ways to control a Mac using Twitter.

TweetMyMac lets you take screenshots, iSight snapshots, etc. from your Mac just by sending a direct message to your specially setup Mac controlling Twitter account. You can start torrents remotely, shutdown your Mac and more.

You make a new twitter account (e.g., maccontrol), then connect it to TweetMyMac. From this account you only follow your twitter account. You can then send a Direct Message to “maccontrol” from your Twitter account containing a command such as “shutdown”. TweetMyMac will execute the command!

pyTwit

pyTwit is a Twitter application with a CLI. At the moment it can get your timeline, your friends timeline, replies, public timeline and post tweets. It is command based so you basically have to tell it what you want to do.

‘timeline’ displays a timeline of your tweets.
‘timeline -friends’ displays your friends timeline
‘timeline -public’ displays the public timeline
‘timeline -replies’ displays a timeline with replies to you
‘tweet’ will ready the program to post a tweet for you

pyTwit is written in Python and should run on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

Filttr

Filttr provides a unique way to access Twitter. It allows you to filter content (‘chirps’) from users using an algorithm they call FLAI.

Not only can you access Filttr using their web site, but also by an Adobe AIR application.

As described on their website:

TwitTray

TwitTray is a minimalist approach to a desktop Twitter status updater. The program sits silently in your system tray until you want to update your Twitter status. Double-clicking the icon will pop up a small box to allow you to type in a new status or pick from a recent status.

URGE

The Anonymous group has released a Twitter app titled URGE to enable you to tweet faster on topics that interest you. URGE stands for Universal Rapid Gamma Emitter. It ‘hijacks’ trending topics of your choice and and lets you tweet messages within them.

BREADBOX64

BREADBOX64 is a Twitter client for the Commodore 64/128 which allows you to tweet from a real C64 and show your friends timeline.

It uses Contiki, a very nice embedded OS, and the MMC Replay cartridge with the RR-Net add on for the physical connection to the net.

Some screenshots are shown below. They don’t look pretty, but at least you have Twitter on C64 now!
