Twittori is a service build on top of Twitter to offer geotagging for single status messages i.e. you write Twitter messages connected to a place on earth. Also you can follow places in a similar way than you are used to follow users on Twitter. This way you keep updated what is happening in your neighbourhood, your favorite bar or your next holiday destination. Twittori also provides options to translate tweets to English.

An iPhone version is also available for Twittori.

SadakMap

SadakMap has a Twitter version that allows location based Twittering.

There are two ways to use this:

1. Post updates to your twitter account: Allows Twitter users to post location aware updates to their twitter account. Users click on the map from where they want to “twit” and type an update of any length. SadakMap will send the first 110 chars and a link pointing back to the location on the map. Your followers can read your entire message by following the SadakMap link.
2. Twitter Search: This is a way to query Twitter by randomly clicking on the map. Start by clicking on the “Twitter Search” button above the map.

Twizness enables you to make use of your mobile device and favourite native Twitter client to find places and things close to you. It utilizes the power of social media services like Twitter, Yelp, and Foursquare.

If your Internet enabled device supports geolocation, log into Twitter and go to Settings, Account and check the “Tweet Location” checkbox. Then simply post a tweet as follows:

@twiznessbot find [keyword]

For example, @twiznessbot find restaurant

Twizness will look for restaurants in your area and tweet the results back to you in about a minute. If you do not have geolocation enabled, or would like to search in other areas, use the “near” keyword as follows:

@twiznessbot find [keyword] near [location]

For example, @twiznessbot find restaurant near 5th Avenue New York

GeoTwitTrends is a free Twitter trends and Google Maps mash-up. It showcases real-time trending topics happening in specific places. It aims to answer the question “What’s going on where I am ?”. This feature allows users to geolocate the top 10 trending topics for a specific location. To use this ‘Twitter Trends Geolocation’ feature, the user just needs to click somewhere on the Google Maps and the top 10 trends for this specific location will be displayed just next to the map. For GeoTwitTrends, the twitter trend geolocation feature is a new addition to the other feature that geolocates the most bidded items for sale on eBay for a specific location.
