TwitterPost is a simple, stand-alone interface to Twitter. TwitterPost allows you to post to and read from your Twitter feed – plus a whole lot more. TwitterPost is available on Mac OS X.

It supports Unicode, which means that it has support for languages beyond just English!

TweetMyMac

TweetMyMac is inspired by TweetMyPC and looks at ways to control a Mac using Twitter.

TweetMyMac lets you take screenshots, iSight snapshots, etc. from your Mac just by sending a direct message to your specially setup Mac controlling Twitter account. You can start torrents remotely, shutdown your Mac and more.

You make a new twitter account (e.g., maccontrol), then connect it to TweetMyMac. From this account you only follow your twitter account. You can then send a Direct Message to “maccontrol” from your Twitter account containing a command such as “shutdown”. TweetMyMac will execute the command!

pyTwit

pyTwit is a Twitter application with a CLI. At the moment it can get your timeline, your friends timeline, replies, public timeline and post tweets. It is command based so you basically have to tell it what you want to do.

‘timeline’ displays a timeline of your tweets.
‘timeline -friends’ displays your friends timeline
‘timeline -public’ displays the public timeline
‘timeline -replies’ displays a timeline with replies to you
‘tweet’ will ready the program to post a tweet for you

pyTwit is written in Python and should run on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

Filttr

Filttr provides a unique way to access Twitter. It allows you to filter content (‘chirps’) from users using an algorithm they call FLAI.

Not only can you access Filttr using their web site, but also by an Adobe AIR application.

Twitterlex

Twitterlex is a simple Mac OS X dashboard widget that shows you the last 30 twitters by you and your Twitter friends, updating every 60 seconds when visible. When hidden, it updates every 5 minutes and sending Growl notifications if anyone has updated their status.

Mozilla Firefox with Twitter instantly connects you to what’s happening in the world. Search people and topics on Twitter using @ and # from the address bar.

Existing Firefox users can simply download the add-on which does the same thing.
